Using iSync with SonyEricsson K750i

This is a description on how to use iSync 1.5 (OS X 10.3 Panther) with the new SonyEricsson K750i. Thank you for using and supporting this site.

NOTE: If you want Apple to officially support this phone, use their feedback form for OS X.

The new phone from SonyEricsson K750i isn't supported by iSync 1.5 in Apple OS X 10.3. You will be able to add the phone as a Bluetooth device and perform other operations on it, but you will not be able to add it as a new device in iSync. Although the K750i is formally unsupported it is technically possible to enable it in iSync by following the procedure described below:
  1. Go to the directory /System/Library/SyncServices/BTConduit.bundle/Contents/Resources and edit the file BTConduit_phones.plist (make sure you create a backup copy before making any changes)
  2. Locate the following lines, or at least very similar ones:
    <key>Sony Ericsson--separator--AAB-1021041-CN</key>

    <string>bttool</string>

  3. Add the following four lines right below those to enable support for K750i and D750i (the T-mobile branded version). It has been reported that using TAB to align the new lines caused problems. To be on the safe side, use space if you want to keep the lines aligned, although this should not be needed.
    <key>Sony Ericsson--separator--AAB-1022011-BV</key>

    <string>bttool</string>

    <key>Sony Ericsson--separator--AAB-1022012-BV</key>

    <string>bttool</string>

  4. If you have previously paired your Mac with the K750i you must remove the pairing from both the phone and the Mac.
    • Phone: Settings->Communication->Bluetooth->My Devices, select your Mac and then press the C key
    • Mac: System Preferences->Bluetooth->Devices, select your K750i and then click on "Delete Pairing"
  5. Re-pair the Mac with your K750i using the phone and not your Mac. Choose a temporary PIN for the pairing and enter it on the phone. Then re-enter the same code on the Mac to authorize the pairing.
  6. Open iSync and add your K750i using Devices->Add Device.
  7. You should now be able to sync as usual. Good luck and please leave your feedback on this page!

It does not work.

Posted by Anonymous User at May 23, 2005 02:00 PM
It first worked half way then halted so I had to re do it again. Now it shows up in iSync but it says it can not connect to the K750i. The devices are paired and everything else seems to work. It will just not sync. :-( Any ideas?

Where did it stop working?

Posted by stefanl at May 24, 2005 10:19 AM
Could you be a bit more specific as to how far in the process things worked and where you experienced problems?

For example: Did your phone ask you to grant permissions to your Mac to access its objects?

Worked only once and not 100%

Posted by Anonymous User at May 26, 2005 07:45 PM
I got it paired and then did a synk. It took about an hour ?
It managed to transfer about 60% of the contacts but reported errors on the rest.
No iCal info got transfered.

If I try to synk again iSybk stalls for about 30 secs at launch then shows the k750i. The k750i reports that a session ended.

And isynk will not connect and synk to the phone any more.

k750i and iSync 1.5 - k750i Not found

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 05, 2005 09:51 PM
I followed the instructions to the letter as well, and everytime i try to add device my phone will say "synchronizing", then "session completed" but won't actually do anything, and iSync will say that it didn't find a device.

With the Bluetooth File Exchanger I can browse the phone just fine, I can even send my contact list from the phone to the powerbook, but that's it.

Any suggestions?

You need to pair the phone with the Mac, not the Mac with the phone...

Using isync with K750i & Mac OS Tiger

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 06, 2005 06:32 PM
I see a posting for pairing isync and K750i using Panther, what about Tiger? Has anyone been successful using 10.4 Tiger? Please post how you did it.

Doesn´t work with my system either

Posted by Anonymous User at May 26, 2005 10:11 AM
I edited the BTConduit plist in TextEdit and saved as plain text unicode 8. The phone appeared in the Bluetooth menu like this (Norwegian system):
Enhetsnavn: K750i

Enhetsadresse: 00-0f-de-9b-b7-17
Enhetstype: Telefon
Enhetstjenester: , OBEX SyncML Client, Dial-up Networking, Serial Port, HF Voice Gateway, HS Voice Gateway, OBEX Object Push, OBEX File Transfer, OBEX IrMC Sync Server, Mouse & Keyboard

No joy

Posted by Anonymous User at May 28, 2005 01:16 PM
Managed to get the icon to appear in iSync and managed to pair devices but iSync reports that the device is unavailable while attempting to sync Address Book and iCal.

The Bluetooth code appears to be for a K750. Would a K750i require a different code?

Definately for K750i

Posted by stefanl at May 28, 2005 07:30 PM
Since my own phone is a K750i the only reason I can see it's not working for you is that either your phone is some branded version of K750i (not the D750i) or that something else failed along the instructions.

Orange K750i

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 07, 2005 07:52 PM
It is a branded version of the K750i - it's an Orange version. As I followed all of the instructions precisely I can only guess that my problem is down to the phone. It's going back to Orange in exchange for a good old fashioned K700.

it seems to work

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 01, 2005 06:56 PM
thats pretty cool, but I had to add www. to the beginning of your address..not rocket science sure but maybe clarify that on the apple discussions page for all the noobs.

any chance of a sweet icon as well???

thanks for all your hard work.

Danny

Hoow to add the cute icon

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 10, 2005 12:37 AM
This works great for me, thanks Jools!

I found a bit of a clumsy work around to get the nice k750i icon to work in OS 10.3

Simply download the graphic for the 10.4 package, (from here: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=92741) then rename the graphic file SEK750.tiff to unknown.tiff (this is the graphic that iSync uses as default if it doesn't have a graphic for the phone it finds). Voila! next time you start iSync the nice black phone icon appears. It will also appear for every other non-supported phone, but how many phones do you really have? I've only got one so it works for me...

Don't forget to rename unknown.tiff before you overwrite it, otherwise you'll lose the graphic.

David.

So where do you put it?

Posted by Anonymous User at Jul 17, 2005 02:13 PM
In 10.3 and iSync 1.5 where do you leave the new unknown.tiff icon? I cannot find the original.

USB?

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 06, 2005 04:30 PM
A bit off topic, but does the USB-connection work with os x? Is the phone recognized as a removable device so that you can transfer photos/music to/from the phone?

yes BUT...

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 06, 2005 04:34 PM
yes, connecting the usb cable mounts the memory stick on the desktop. However, I get a KERNAL PANIC when i disconnect it, whether it's dragged to the trash or not.

syncing over usb?

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 22, 2005 10:57 PM
sorry - rooky question. Can I do this? or will I need bluetooth?

proper way to get it working

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 06, 2005 09:26 PM
The changes above do work but the way you add the device to your mac has to be done as follows. First, using the phone add the computer under the Bluetooth "My Devices". This allows for your mac to recognize that the phone supports contacts and calendar synching. Then they need to be paired and you can do this by trying to browse the phone from your mac. Once paired, add the K750i to iSync and synch away!

Hope it works for you too!!

Still having problems

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 07, 2005 05:29 AM
For whatever reason the services my k750i are showing my powerbook as supporting is just Object Push. Is this sufficient? It wont' do anything when I scan for devices in iSync other than say Synchronization, then "Session Completed" on my phone. What am I doing wrong? I really would love to get my contacts back to my phone :/

...

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 08, 2005 05:07 PM
Try adding your mac onto your phone in "My Devices" first before doing it on your Mac. This helped my Mac recognize that my k750 could do contacts and calendars.

Thanks..works a treat!

Still Not Working - 4 tries later

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 07, 2005 09:17 PM
I have followed the instructions to a "T" 4 times now and I cannot get iSync to see the phone, other than it saying (on the phone), "synchronization.. session completed"

Do i need to setup something else on the phone in the synchronization section of hte connections menu??

Someone please help me with this, I've got all of my contacts cleaned up and correctly done and I'd love to get them back to my phone.

K750i & isync - working

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 10, 2005 10:07 PM
absolute skills for that! thought it was gonna end in tears when i couldn't sync my new phone with my powerbook.... but now, thanks to the above, isync and K750i working all good together. the only additional thing i had to do to get it working was to pair the mac with phone AFTER pairing the phone to the mac. pairing only phone to mac (as per instructions) didn't work - but after pairing the mac to the phone, it all became gravy ;-)

so yeah, follow all instructions to the letter, and if its not syncing through isync, try pairing the mac to the phone (after pairing the phone to the mac)

aktivieren.

Dann hats so funktioniert wie beschrieben! Göttlich...

Problems iSync - K750i

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 14, 2005 03:30 PM
I experience strange problems syncing my PB and my new K750i. Although I could add all my contacts from AddressBook to the "blank" phone, the sync will not work if I changed a contact in AB, the corresponding contact will not be updated in the phone, but deleted. During the next sync, the contact will then be deleted from AddressBook. The only workaround for that I could figure out was to delete all the contacts from the phone, delete the pairing from both devices, and re-add all contacts to the phone. Pretty annoying...

I strongly recommend the following when using the K750i with iSync:
-backup your AddressBook data often (and keep old backups!),
-enable all warnings in iSync,
-take care!

I hope Apple will support the K750i soon, ´cus working with important data (like contact data) needs reliable tools. And by now, iSync and the K750i are not reliable at all when it comes to syncing.

FYI:
-Salling Clicker v3.0 will support the K750i
(according to eMail from developer from June, 11th)
-PhoneAgent will support the k750i as soon as it is officially
released in the Slovak Republic
(according to eMail from developer from June, 12th)

Einfacherer Weg

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 22, 2005 09:57 AM

Posted by Anonymous User at Jul 06, 2005 11:02 AM

korrektur

Posted by Anonymous User at Jul 06, 2005 11:16 AM
*seufz*

bitte noch mal detailierter:

Posted by Anonymous User at Jul 13, 2005 07:51 AM

/System/Library/SyncServices/BTConduit.bundle

Posted by Anonymous User at May 04, 2007 10:10 PM

Posted by Anonymous User at Jan 19, 2007 02:33 AM

Connected from the K750i to the Mac as per instructions. The Panther machine asked for my iSync options. Used iSync without hitch. Many thanks.

Tiger also?

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 17, 2005 08:48 PM
Could anyone verify that this also works in Tiger? I Can't find the folder BTConduit.bundle on my tiger installation. 10.4.1 is the version number. Thanks!

No, this is for Panther only

Posted by stefanl at Jun 19, 2005 09:52 PM
Tiger iSync has a slightly different architecture, so this hack won't work, neither will you find the file that is used.

For a Tiger hack, check out http://www.kinkykoala.com/macstuff/k750i/ instead.

Good luck!

Company Names and Other Bugs

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 21, 2005 09:59 PM
After folowing all the threads here I managed to make it work.

However so far I've found it will not work with the folowing

Entries that only have a company name

Contacts that have a 'Main' telephone number this mush be changed to work, home or mobile

And for a reason I've not yet been able to fathom some other contacts simply will not sync.

This is a superb temporary fix until apple support it.
And I think the phone is top.

iSync with over 2000 contacts

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 25, 2005 02:58 PM
Hello,

Does someone know how to synchronize my over 3000 contacts from my PowerBook to my cellphone, I know the K750i has only 500 entries.. and that is ample for my cellphone but I do not want to loose my contacts

Thanks

Sync a selection

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 29, 2005 08:23 PM
As far as I understand there's no way to circumvent the limitation in the phone. There are two options, both available in the option panel in iSync:

a) Sync only contacts which actually have a phone entry.
-- This might reduce the number of contacts, depending on your Adressbook file.

b) Sync only a subset of your contact.
-- You can choose to ony sync a specific group from within your Adressbook. So set up a group with your most important fellows, restrict it to 500 contacts (or whatever the limitations of the K750i are), and sync that group only.

Hope this helps.

500

Thanx a lot!!!

it works perfectly between my iMac G5 and my K750i!

NOT WORKING? Try rebooting, and...

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 29, 2005 08:15 PM
After fiddling around with the phone without success, I noticed the K750i wouldn't accept any incoming bluetooth traffic (even sending files between phones), so I rebooted it. Since then it works!

I'm not sure what did the trick -- i tried the hack as explained above, and then the procedure some german fellow posted under "Einfacherer Weg", which doesn't involve any .plist manipulation. For the non-teutons here, i'll translate:

0. Delete all previous pairings on phone and Mac
1. ON THE PHONE, add the Mac as a known device
2. On the Mac, add the phone (via pop-up)
3. Open iSync
4. Wait a moment, the phone should appear
5. Don't sync, klick on icon to choose options*:
Syncronize (not Clear phone and copy from Mac)
Contacts only (no calendar)

* I'm not sure if step 5 is necessary.

Give it a shot, it seemed to have worked for me as I removed the .plist-hack again for this attempt.

PS: Only phone numbers and one e-mail address were synced, no physical addresses, birthdays and such... may Apple fix this in an iSync update for 10.4 AND 10.3...!

(My setup: Mac OS X 10.3.9, non-branded k750i)

(continued:) Word of caution

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 29, 2005 08:48 PM
As an addition to my post above, I am experiencing the same as another poster regarding edited contacts: The first-time sync works, but any editing of contacts leads to a deletion of the edited contact first on the phone, and with one more sych, on the Mac.

Use these hacks with caution, and just for a first-time sync -- and wait for the full support from Apple. And back up!

Apple, are you listening? ;-)

How do I edit the file

little help how to do

Posted by Anonymous User at Jul 06, 2005 12:14 PM
at the very top of this site there is the file's location. i pasted it into safari and found the btcounduit..... .
after that i opened the btconduit_phone.plist - file with textedit, a program that u can find at "programs".
then you have to identify yourself as root. only as a root you can change files in such ways as writing sth into it.
for that please search inside the folder "applications" for the program "netinfomanager". here it ist possible to identify yousrself al root.
after it all changes inside the btcoduit_phone.plist can be saved.
use copy&paste to fill in the lines, erase the empty lines between (don't know if necessary, but so i did).
save your work and follow the instructions given up above.
my unbranded K750i works with this changes, the one branded with vodafone germany doesn't work at all.
good luck and thx to all inside here

Anyway enough ranting.
Tried hooking up new phone and G4, to only charge my phone for a bit, which was nice. Will try all of your ideas to get my phone and my mac in perfect harmany. If i encounter more problems or any other quirkyness. Will let you know.

Well, my old T610 was a dream for syncing with iSync 1.5 and MacOS 10.3. In fact, I'd been syncing contacts even before it was officially supported by iSync in the early days.

(But it recently died.)

It looks like things can be done easier with Tiger and iSync 2, but I'm not yet ready to upgrade to that.

sorry, I'm not able to isync the k750i and my mac. I did your advice twice, but no chance. I've got the k750i in the device, but everytime I start the iSync the phone and the mac connect and then the phone quits. session missed or - in german "Verbindung fehlgeschlagen". Any further advice? Tnx, I'm using 10.3.9.

isync k750i

Posted by Anonymous User at Jul 11, 2005 01:14 PM
I tried all of your suggestions using 10.2.8 with isync 1.5 and kept getting messege on phone saying connection failed and isync would crash.Restarted phone and power book several times same problem. It finally synced but couldn't do it successfully. Finally i decided to sync my T610 again then syncd that to the K760i. Worked great with contacts as far as i can see, only had to sync the calendar 1 month at a time. For now it's a decent work around so that I use the phone for now until apple fix the problem. I suspect it will not be compatible with isync 1.5 and 10.2.8! Thanks to everyone on this forums you guys are wonderful!

Thanks for the advice. It worked perfectly for me. Cheers

Why Oh Why...not?

Posted by Anonymous User at Jul 17, 2005 03:46 PM
I'm using Mac OS X 10.3.5 and iSync 1.5. with SE K750i.

This doesn't work here. I tried all varieties of pairing.

Remarkable?:
When I pair from the phone the bluetooth connection doesn't stay. The phone name gets bold only briefly.

iSync takes quite some time before it gets connected with the phone and during that time the add device is not possible. Then suddenly the icon is there by itself.
Then the sync seems possible. I choose option to merge, but after some time it seems to be finished(bar is full), iSync tells me it didn't work.

When I delete the device and try to add it, it cannot be found by iSync anymore. Although in the BT prefs the device is still there and connected.

What the F*^%$##@#@@? I want my adresses back through iSync!!!!!
I don't want to drag and drop .vcf files.

Restarting didn't help either.
Additional pairing from Mac (as indicated by some people) didn't help either.

BTW: service list on phone only says: pushing objects, file transfers. Is this strange?

Who can really help?

It's working!

Posted by Anonymous User at Jul 17, 2005 04:33 PM
After deleting all pairings I switched the phone off and back on. Now it's working.

Only paired from phone. iSync again started to connect. I didn't have to manually add the device.

works

Posted by Anonymous User at Jul 30, 2005 10:37 AM
it works. 10.3.9

one step i did beforehand was to reinstall iSync 1.5, just in case ...

iSync + address book sms with k750i

Posted by Anonymous User at Aug 09, 2005 02:34 PM
The tip for using isync with my k750i was great - took a couple of attempts but got there in the end....however, a really useful function which syncs your phone to your addressbook - you can see your sms messages and reply via address book (handy if you want to serupticiously txt while at work without drawing attention to youself), is not working anymore. does anyone know how to resolve this?

Will it work with w800i

Posted by Anonymous User at Aug 10, 2005 08:22 PM
Hi,

Is there any possibility that this could work with a w800i, which is also not suppored by iSync 1.5?

Thanks,

Yan

Re: Will it work with w800i

Posted by Anonymous User at Aug 27, 2005 08:47 AM
This could work with the w800i (and other phones), but you would need to find out the phone identity codes for the W800 and substitute them in the above modification.

Check out my site http://mobile.feisar.com/ for a tutorial on how to do this.

and the V800i...?

Posted by Anonymous User at Sep 08, 2005 06:25 PM
I've been trying to do something similar for the V800i, Vodafone's variation of the *800, for which I think (following JoolsG4's instructions) its ID is AAD-3021022-BV.

But it seems to be no-go: iSync will normally crash either when starting (and discovering the phone) or when trying to sync.

Anyone had any success with that?

W800i

Posted by Anonymous User at Sep 01, 2005 09:57 PM
Code for W800i is AAB-1022013-BV

Got it mostly working but all day events seem to cause problems in syncing. Is there a solution, i've edited the plist file and paired. Syncing works in both directions but errors occur with all day events as mentioned.

Hi,

I have always been able to sync my k750i with my powerbook (running Panther). But the problem is that it only syns the name of the contact and there phonenumbers.

I want it to sync address and birthdays..
Is there any way I could "link" certain "parts" of the phones-adresbook and the one from my Powerbook? So that at least adresses and birthdays are sync'd aswell.

Thanks

i can not understand, why cupertino is not able to release something like that. obviously, the greatest freaks are not in cupertino, but somewhere outside (for example at lindmark). thanx for your work. and thanx, that you share your solution!

btw: for al users: pair phone and mac by starting from the phone, as noted here on this page! then it really works wonderful!

greets & thanx!

You're a genius

I'm fairly technically minded (for a layperson), so I was stumped when my D750i couldn't be found by iSync. After finding the link to your site on an Apple discussion board I gave it a try.

Your instructions were clear and accurate, so even a non-coder like me could follow them, and it worked perfectly.

Many thanks.

Fantastic!

Cheers, Marc

worked fine for me.. Cheers!

Posted by Anonymous User at Jan 13, 2006 01:24 AM

to expand the instructions, do apple+click on BTConduit.bundle and expand contents then drill down. I had to save the modified BTConduit_phones.plist file somewhere else (my iPod in this case) and then overwrite the original (needs authorisation)

I guess the other thing is Re-pair the Mac with your K750i using the phone and not your Mac.

After that worked a treat, sync'd fine.

Thanks

Worked for me with no mod. (10.3) odd!!??

Posted by Anonymous User at Jan 26, 2006 04:59 PM

I just tried this and it worked without even having to modify anything. This is too odd!? Wonder what happened here. BTW I am using OS X 10.3. It even says the right name, just the logo seems to be the one of the K700.

WARNUNG!!!

Posted by Anonymous User at Mar 18, 2006 09:46 PM

Problem: can only pair from Mac to phone

Posted by terminus at Mar 28, 2006 01:02 PM

I've tried the instructions but when I enter in the PIN from my phone on the Mac, nothing happens. The phone keeps waiting for the Mac to do something, but the Mac doesn't. However, I can pair from the Mac to the phone - except that iSync of course then won't work.

Is there any way to get the Mac to iSync with the phone even if you have paired them from the Mac?

Thanx for the hack! My system: PB 15,2, 1GB Ram, 1 Ghz, OSX 3.9 latest versions. I got a "new", used D750i and debranded software to K750i. I copied the syntax-lines into *.plist and nothing worked, even I did all what was written to do.... My mobile shut down, iSync thought for about 10min and found nothing. I cleared BT complete on mobile and PB and started the re-pair from mobile with code 123456 because the link to bluetooth.org is not so good if you can't sign in. I started after the prodedure iSync - and nothing worked. I restarted the comp - and all worked. NO PROBLEMS. Thanx for help.

Thanks for your posting. It made my day.

I just rolled back from Tiger to Panther. All that was left was to be able to sync my Sony Ericsson Z800i. I managed to do that with your procedure above. The Bluetooth ID was AAD-3021011-BV as found on http://homepage.mac.com/alvinmok/ericsson/types.html

Can't get Address Book to send names&nos to k750i

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 01, 2006 02:21 PM

Followed the instructions in the first post of this thread to the letter and iCal exports fine via isync to my k750i but Address Book won't.

Any ideas?

Worked for me...

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 15, 2006 12:31 PM

This worked for me using 10.3.9 on an unbranded k750i, couple of wierd things though...

  1. .. Contacts that didn't feature a phone number didn't copy across (might be my settings though!) 2... Phone didn't appear through "add device" under isync although this was tried, instead after the device wasn't found I turned the phone off, then on and it simply appeared within isync on its own??

Many thanks for this tip for us non-tiger users!

I'm a dougnut

The first problem above was simply because I didn't have it checked under the options, etc, please ignore!

No problems as yet!

Posted by Anonymous User at Jun 23, 2006 11:53 PM

Hello all, I am having problems with this sync thing. Unusually though it used to work fine, even on tiger. I lost my phone, got a replacement and then during the syncing up of the new phone i must have done something very stupid. When i add the phone to the mac with the passkey it finds it but it says the phone is unsupported. this never used to be the case, but i think i have accidentally deleted a file from the within the library, dick h e a d! It's the BT conduit file, i cant find it anymore. Anyideas what i can do about cos i miss the power of the Sync. Cheers as ever for anyhelp on this. Adam

w810i funktioniert und wahrscheinlich auch noch mehr...

Posted by Anonymous User at Jul 07, 2006 01:52 AM

Vier Erfolg.

Just to reiterate...

Posted by Anonymous User at Jul 13, 2006 03:51 PM

You must pair the K750 to the mac & not use the mac to pair to the phone...

Look under settings -> bluetooth -> my devices -> add device -> Then enter any number & re-enter that number on the mac!

(The option to use the address book features, etc, then appears, click ok & simply open isync to have the phone appear... just like magic!)

k800i geht auch

SMS from address book

Posted by Anonymous User at Dec 28, 2006 07:59 PM

Thanks for this helpful page, the new phone syncs perfectly with iSync. BUT: I use the function in OSX addressbook to send SMS by right-clicking on a mobile phone number. That does not seem, to work. Any one knows how to get that function to work?

RE: SMS From address book

Posted by Anonymous User at Apr 12, 2007 09:36 AM

Hi, I had the same problem and have just figured it out. My method is not entirely proven but SMS and Dial out on a W810i using 10.3.9 seems to work perfectly.

Firstly make sure you have followed the instructions to enable isync (as above) with your phone then with addressbook closed locate to;

Applications >> Address book >> (Show Package Contents [SPC]) >> resources >> telephony.bundle >> (SPC) >> contents >> resources >> ABDeviceCommandSets.plist - Open in text edit and locate a similar phone. I took a stab and guessed for my W810i and added it after the K700 so it looked like ... K700 W810 ...

Save then go to;

System >> library >> core services >> syncServer >> (SPC) >> Resources >> SupportedBluetoothDevices >> BTConduit_phones.plist - Add in the phone details as per isync hack

restart address book, good luck!

As i said it worked first time for me and this was purely a bit of lateral thinking and guess work, so may not work for you. If anyone can expand on this it would be a great help.
